KOSTA BODA
Over the centuries, the artists and craftsmen of Kosta Boda have not only embodied the distinctive folkways of Scandinavian design, but helped define those traditions. When you buy and give Kosta Boda, you're buying and giving history - a lineage of great design and craftsmanship that has endured for more than 260 years.

When the USA was established our company was nearly 50 years old. The original Kosta glassworks was born in 1742 as a partnership, the name an acronym from the partners' surnames: Anders KOskull and Georg Boglislaus STAël von Holstein. As Kosta grew and prospered, we helped grow an entire industry in Småland, Sweden's "Kingdom of Glass." In the 20th century, Kosta and neighboring glasshouses Åfors and Boda were merged under a common owner. In 1976, we were renamed Kosta Boda.

What makes Kosta Boda so special is that we continually draw on our long history in developing exciting new ideas and methods in design and glass craftsmanship. Kosta Boda's designers and glassmakers are showcased in exhibitions and permanent private and public collections throughout the world.

Every item in the Kosta Boda collection is engravable and gift-worthy for a variety of business-giving needs and occasions. We offer a wealth of products that are exceptionally suitable for awards, corporate gifts and promotions.

STEPHEN SCHLANSER
Mr. Schlanser has a diverse and interesting background. His occupations have ranged from racing motorcycles to modeling. He was raised in a community rich in heritage and as a result has a great appreciation for architecture and the arts.
Mr. Schlanser found his interest in glass while working as an apprentice for the renowned German glass artisan Paul von Domarus and later opened his own successful stained glass studio. He has since taken the glass medium into unexplored territories. In 1990 he presented his first collection of kiln-fired glass; the process by which plate glass is carefully shaped by heating it to near melting temperature, then gravitating from its solid state to form the shapes as seen in the Schlanser line.
Upon completion, each piece is signed and dated.
The art glass is carried in galleries, gift and fine department stores throughout the United States, as well as 35 countries around the world. Schlanser Design Studio has been commissioned to do special projects for the likes of The Coca-Cola Company, Disney, Rockwell and CB Commercial. Recipients of Mr. Schlanser's work include Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone and Bruce Willis.
